Explore the Stockholm Archipelago by kayak

This 3 day sea kayaking trip in the Stockholm archipelago with its 25 000 islands is an unforgettable experience! Our knowledgeable and experienced guides will take you to the more remote and spectacular outer parts of the archipelago, where you will watch the horizon, explore the unique rocky landscape and get a chance to see wildlife like seals, White-tailed eagle and various sea birds . 

This trip starts with the tour guide showing us how to best pack the kayak, some hints on paddling techniques and how to safely get in and out of the kayak. Then it is time to set off for the three day adventure – at a leisurely pace.

In the late afternoon we arrive to a legendary and historic island, where we will be accommodated in atmospheric surroundings. We will enjoy a gourmet dinner at the characteristic and renowned restaurant. After dinner those who wish can relax in the wood-heated sauna and go for a swim in the sea, the very traditional Swedish way of enjoying the sauna. A nutritious Swedish breakfast will be served to give you lots of energy for the day’s kayaking.

On this second day we will paddle through an area where Herons, Eiders and the king of the archipelago - the White-tailed Eagle are frequently seen. With our quiet kayaks we have a good chance to get a close look at the wildlife, and seals if we’re lucky. We will paddle in the clear water through islets and skerries that are typical for the outer archipelago landscape. The stunning rock formations and shapes go back to the ice age! Back at the island of our accommodation we will again enjoy our dinner in the unforgettable restaurant and maybe have a chat with the locals in the bar.

Having had two days of kayaking you will feel an improvement of your paddling technique and will be able to go smoothly and a little faster across the water. We explore new beautiful parts of the archipelago and eventually head back for Västernäs. We finish our three-day experience with coffee and homemade cake in the garden, overlooking the sea. You will return to Stockholm around 5 pm.

Optional: You can combine this trip with two days in Stockholm, maybe the most beutiful capital in the world. You can discover all sights in Stockholm by water, bus or foot with a Stockholm Card which allows you enter a lot of attractions. You stay on a 4 star hotel in the middle of city and you have transfer from/to Arlanda airport.
